Connections
Connections are how you connect Mover to the places your data lives. This can be a cloud storage service, a server that allows protocol access, or any device that can run our Agent program.
Each Migration has a source Connection and a destination Connection. Connections can be used with multiple Migrations, so you can fan-out data from one source connection to multiple destinations, or to collect data from more than one source to the same destination Connection.
Connection Types
We offer connections to specific services, such as Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, OneDrive, SharePoint, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, Cloudflare R2 Storage, Filebase, Akamai Linode, Azure Files, Wasabi, and Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage.
You can also choose to use generic connections for any FTP/S, SFTP, WebDAV, or S3-compatible service that can be reached from the Internet.
For storage which is not reachable from the internet, such as a personal computer or a machine in a private data center, we offer the Files.com Agent, a low-footprint application that seamlessly connects you to our secure infrastructure without any network configuration.
Adding a New Connection
You must create a new Connection before it can be used in a Migration.
First, choose the type of connection you are adding.
Provide a name for your connection, which makes it simpler to
After you have selected the type, you'll be prompted for the other information needed for Mover to connect to your data. Depending on the type of connection, this can include server addresses and ports, usernames, keys, tokens, and folder names. Some types of connections require OAuth authentication, and you're prompted to log into your cloud provider.
Managing Connections
You can update existing connections to change the name or any of the supplemental details for your connection. You can't change the type of an existing connection, like changing a Dropbox connection to an S3 connection.
Deleting Connections
To delete a connection, edit its settings and choose the option to delete. You can't delete a connection that is part of a Migration.
